Admittedly, I am a die-hard Ryan Adams fan, so it's no surprise that his latest album made my Top 10 of 2011 over at Cougar Microbes. That being said, his graceful, folk-Americana vocals on this track KILL me!
A lot of the reviews say that he's matured on this album, but that seems like a convenient word that does little to describe the actual listening experience. Not that it's easy to explain the new collection of songs, but Adam's has been crafting classic songs, well beyond his years, since breaking onto the scene. Case in point: "To Be Young (Is To Be Sad, Is To Be High)" off his first solo record, written at the ripe age of 26. Plus, anyone who's seen his video series Night Sweats knows he's not that mature.
Speaking of classic songs, I wouldn't be a super-fan if I didn't share another track.
